What’s the Function?

Posted: March 31, 2011 in Fitness

Hello dear readers – I hope you are enjoying the return of light into your lives.  This is a short post on the subject of training smarter not harder.

When it comes to complex movements at the gym most of us are guilty of occasionally banging through them.  At Hit to Fit, every exercise has a purpose: a group of muscles we want to strengthen, a movement we are looking to master, a skill we are trying to learn, a drill to keep our heart rate up or often a combination of these.

Ask your trainer to explain the function of every exercise and if you remind yourself of the function every time you meet that exercise you will get much more out of your gym time.

In health,
Sandy
